Description

Whether you’re a knot novice or a knot pro, this clinic has content for you. In this hands-on clinic, learn knots for personal anchors, rappelling, and edge protection. For each context, several options will be discussed and practiced.

Goals

  • Introduce the basics of rope craft, including materials and terminology.

  • Expand options for knots and hitches relevant to climbing in the following situations:

    • Attach yourself to rope/anchor

    • Join ropes for a longer rappel

    • Create edge protection

Required Gear - you will provide this gear, or rent it from TRC

  • Climbing harness

Optional Gear - we will provide this gear, you are welcome to use your own

  • Slings, nylon and dyneema

  • Carabiners, locking

  • Gri-Gri

  • Friction hitch loop

Note: TRC’s shop stocks all of the gear we use in our clinic.
